I was born under the name István Kovács in 1952 in Budapest.
I was attracted to art already at a very young age.
In 1970, I graduated from the Secondary School of Fine and Applied Arts with a degree in goldsmithing. After my military service, I started studying at the Juhász Gyula Teacher Training College in Szeged, majoring in drawing and geography. After leaving the college for a sense of adventure, I joined the puppet group of the Orfeo creative community. In 1972 I married Márta Ilyés (1954-2008), painter (www.ilyesmarta.hu )
I worked as a wood sculptor for six years. From 1978 to 1990 I made fashion jewellery. Between 1990 and 1996, I was involved in burglary prevention as an contractor.
Meanwhile, in 1993, I set up the ArtPOnt Studio Gallery.
In 2013, I painted the "Tube World" and edited its virtual imprint, the www.tubusvilag.hu
At times, I felt compelled to write some verses.

In December 2018, I completed the fifth semester of the "Fiction Writing Course" at Kodolányi János College as a student of professor András Petőcz. My first proofread short stories appeared in the anthology edited by him in 2017, 2018 and 2019. On the recommendation of András Petőcz, my narratives were published on the websites Spanish Flu and Literary Knowledge
In December 2013, I started authoring my novel, “The Gene of Evil”, which has grown in size so much that I have divided it into three parts. I designed the covers for the novel trilogy.
In recent years I have been writing under the alias HayKováts. For my writing name, I merged the surnames of my maternal and paternal grandfathers. By not using my first name, I refer immodestly to Marie-Henri Beyle, who became world-famous under the pen name Stendhal.
